4 NUTRITION TIPS FOR A HEALTHIER BACK!

IF YOU HAVE BACK PAIN, GOOD NUTRITION CAN POTENTIALLY MAKE THINGS BETTER.

With a few diet changes, you could make a big difference to your spine.

Try these tips for a healthier back:

  1. Drink Plenty Of Water

Drinking plenty of water helps the entire body function well and has special importance for the spine and back. Since the spinal discs are mainly made up of water, keeping them well hydrated helps improve flexibility, so they can perform their vital role as shock absorbers between the spinal vertebrae.

  1. Try Nutrition Balance

If you enjoy comfort foods, with few vegetables, it may be time to expand your food variety. You don’t need to change everything overnight, but start working on more leafy vegetables, whole grains, fish, chicken, avocados, and seeds into your diet. These foods are all great sources of magnesium, a key mineral in keeping bones strong and strengthening back muscles. Eating a wide range of foods helps your body get the needed vitamins and minerals.

  1. Know Your Nutrients

Calcium is one of the best known nutrients for bone health and is important in preventing osteoporosis. It’s ideal to get your calcium from foods, rather than supplements. Dairy products and dark green leafy vegetables are good sources of calcium.

Vitamin D goes along with calcium, helping the body absorb calcium. Vitamin D occurs in a limited number of foods, such as egg yolks and salmon, and low levels of vitamin D are common.

Learning what drinks to avoid can also give your back some relief. Regularly drinking cola can make it harder for your body to absorb needed nutrients critical in boosting your bone strength. Alcohol can limit your body’s ability to absorb calcium. So drinking alcohol in moderation or not at all is best for your back.
